«Gitanjali» is Rabindranath Tagore's poetry collection, published by Macmillan in paperback (73 pages, in English).
Collection of prose poems by the Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore, translated into English by himself and subtitled 'Song Offerings'. It draws on imagery from classical Indian love poetry and a devotional tone to explore the longing for union with the divine; it introduced Tagore to the West and earned him the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.
The work was originally published in Bengali in 1910; this English edition came out in 1987.
Connects with readers of poetry, philosophy, and spirituality interested in classical Indian literature.

Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali poet, author, playwright, musician, composer, philosopher, social reformer, painter, and one of the foremost figures of the Bengal Renaissance. In 1913, Tagore became the first Indian and non-European to win a Nobel Prize in any category, and also the first lyricist to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. A significant moulder of culture within Bengal and the Indian subcontinent, he wrote and composed the national anthems of India and Bangladesh.
