«Gente que se fue» is the collection of short stories by David Gistau published by Círculo de Tiza in paperback (202 pages, in Spanish).
Stories that portray the margins of urban and nightlife: rockers, survivors of the movida, journalists, aspiring artists and waitresses. The city is both refuge and condemnation for characters chasing unattainable dreams. With humour, tenderness and violence, Gistau's gaze rescues the extraordinary from the ordinary.
First edition published on 22 January 2019, with a prologue by Javier Aznar. ISBN 9788494913136.
For readers of contemporary Spanish fiction who enjoy stories with an urban setting, loser characters and the memory of Madrid's movida.
