«Gallop!» is the moving-image children's book by Rufus Butler Seder, published by Workman Publishing in hardback (12 pages, in English).
Each double page shows an animated animal with the Scanimation optical effect: the horse gallops, the eagle glides, the turtle swims and the butterfly flutters. A rhyming text asks the reader questions about how animals move and answers them with sound effects like «giddyup-a-loo».
Part of the Scanimation series from Workman Publishing. The apparent motion is achieved by sliding a striped acetate over the illustrations on each page.
Aimed at early readers, it is also fascinating for adults due to its striking visual effect.
