«Frühlings-Wimmelbuch» is the search-and-find children's book by Rotraut Susanne Berner, from Gerstenberg Verlag in hardback (16 pages, in German).
The scenes of Wimmlingen show the arrival of spring: neighbours stroll, children play, a hot-air balloon crosses the sky and a tree blossoms. Among houses, countryside, station and market, parallel stories are hidden that can be followed with recurring characters such as the nun Martha, the ice-cream seller Gabriele or the cat Mingus.
Second volume of Berner's tetralogy of seasonal Wimmelbücher; the work was originally published in 2004 and this Midi edition appeared in 2011.
Suitable for children from about 24 months; its detailed scenes also appeal to adults.
Rotraut Susanne Berner is a German graphic designer and illustrator. She illustrated The Number Devil by Hans Magnus Enzensberger.
