«Frederick» is the children's picture book by Leo Lionni, published by Middelhauve in paperback, in German.
Frederick, a field mouse, spends the summer collecting sunbeams, colours and words, while his friends store food for the winter. When the cold bites and the food runs out, his stock of poetry and memories serves to warm the spirits of the whole community.
Originally published in 1967 and nominated for the Caldecott Medal in 1968. This 1996 edition is translated by Günter Bruno Fuchs.
For early readers and for sharing aloud; a fable about imagination, memory and the value of small things.
