«Figuracce» is an anthology of short stories by Niccolò Ammaniti, Francesco Piccolo, Paolo Giordano and five other authors, published by Einaudi in paperback.
During a summer dinner, eight Italian writers end up confessing the most embarrassing moments of their lives. Later, Niccolò Ammaniti challenges them to write them down, and so this anthology of self-critical and absurd stories about mistakes, misunderstandings and awkward situations that leave a mark is born.
Published in 2014; 260 pages, text in Italian.
Aimed at readers of contemporary Italian fiction who value self-deprecating humour and the portrayal of uncomfortable everyday situations.
Niccolò Ammaniti is an Italian writer, winner of the Premio Strega in 2007 for As God Commands. He became noted in 2001 with the publication of I'm Not Scared, a novel which was later made into a movie directed by Gabriele Salvatores.
