«Escenas de la vida rural» is the novel by Amos Oz published by Siruela in paperback (168 pages, in Spanish).
In Tel Ilan, a century-old pioneering village, strange things happen: a retired, discontented politician hears digging noises at night; the politician's tenant, a young Arab, hears them too; and the mayor's wife disappears, leaving a note saying not to worry. Several intertwined episodes paint a portrait of a rural community and its secrets.
Translation from the Hebrew by Raquel García Lozano. A work from Siruela's Nuevos Tiempos collection.

Amos Oz was an Israeli writer, novelist, journalist, and intellectual. He was also a professor of Hebrew literature at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. From 1967 onwards, Oz was a prominent advocate of a two-state solution to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict.
