Erixitl de Palul is the second volume in the Maztica series, part of the Forgotten Realms, written by Douglas Niles and published by Timun Mas in 1993. In this installment, Erix, a former slave girl, and Halloran, a legionary, flee from the catastrophe that sweeps Maztica. As the God of War demands sacrifices to favor the native warriors in their fight against the invaders from the Forgotten Realms, the couple tries to escape their many enemies. The members of the Cult of the Viper Hand and the priests of Zaltec seek Erix's life, as she is the chosen one of Qotal and the only one who can thwart their plans of conquest.
Douglas Niles is a fantasy author and game designer. Niles was one of the creators of the Dragonlance world and the author of the first three Forgotten Realms novels, the Star Frontiers space opera setting and the Top Secret S/I espionage role-playing game.
