«En los mares del Sur» is the travel account by Robert Louis Stevenson, published by Ediciones B in paperback (402 pages, in Spanish).
At thirty-eight, ill with tuberculosis, Stevenson set out on a journey through the South Seas in search of a more favourable climate. Aboard the schooners Casco (1888) and Equator (1889), he visited the Marquesas, Pomotu and Gilbert Islands and settled in Samoa. His view of island life, where he was called Tusitala, shapes this account.
Translation by Agustín Esclasans, foreword by Horacio Vázquez-Rial; original title: In the South Seas. Published in the collection Los libros de Siete Leguas.
