«Emergencias» is an anthology of twelve Ibero-American short stories edited and introduced by Jorge Carrión (Candaya, paperback, 240 pages, in Spanish).
The twelve stories offer a choral view of a present marked by uncertainty and crisis. They show estrangement before institutions such as marriage, family, the city or the state, and portray characters who, orphaned in a globalised world, struggle with difficult human relationships and turn to technology and images to express their helplessness.
Published in 2013, it belongs to the Narrativa collection. It includes stories by Antonio Galimany, Àlex Oliva, Mónica Ojeda, Eduardo Ruiz Sosa and Carolina Bruck, plus an epilogue by Juan Villoro.

Jorge Carrión is a Spanish writer, cultural critic, and director of the Master in Literary Creation at the Pompeu Fabra University. His published books include the non-fiction works Bookshops (2013) and Barcelona: Book of Passageways (2017), and the novels The Dead (2010), The Orphans (2014), and The Tourists (2015). He writes in the Spanish edition of The New York Times, and he's also a collaborator in international media as the National Geographic magazine, El País, and La Vanguardia.
