The book 'El vuelo de los buitres' by Jorge M. Reverte tells the story of the battle of Annual in 1921, where the Riffians led by Abd el-Krim faced the Spanish army in Morocco. This event resulted in a great defeat for Spain and had a significant impact on public opinion, generating a political crisis that affected the government and the monarchy. The author uses unpublished testimonies and first-hand documentation to reconstruct the events both on the battlefield and in Melilla and Madrid, offering a new perspective on these historical events.
Jorge Martínez Reverte was a Spanish writer, journalist, and historian, specializing in the Spanish Civil War.
