El viaje a ninguna parte is a novel by the Spanish author Fernando Fernán Gómez, published in 1985. The story follows a traveling theater company that tours the towns of Castilla-La Mancha from the beginnings of the Franco regime. Through the eyes of Carlos, a "family comedian", the novel explores the life of these artists and their adaptation to the changes of the time, including the growing competition from cinema. A reflection on art, life and the evolution of Spanish society.

Fernando Fernández Gómez, better known as Fernando Fernán Gómez, was a Spanish actor, screenwriter, film director, theater director, novelist, and playwright. Prolific in all these fields, he was elected member of the Royal Spanish Academy in 1998. He was born in Lima, Peru while his mother, Spanish actress Carola Fernán-Gómez, was making a tour in Latin America. He would later use her surname for his stage name when he moved to Spain in 1924.
