Synopsis of El tren de los locos

In the summer of 1897, the Italian anarchist Michele Angiolillo assassinates the President of the Government of Spain, Antonio Cánovas del Castillo. The assassination takes place in the aristocratic spa of Santa Águeda, which after the attack becomes a psychiatric hospital. From the perspective of Maurizia, a worker at the establishment, we witness the golden years of the spa and then the train transfer of patients from the asylums of Zaragoza and Valladolid.

A year before the assassination of Cánovas, Xalbador, Maurizia's boyfriend, is injured. After recovering, he begins the search for his attacker, chasing him through several cities: Paris, Barcelona, Madrid... 'The Train of the Madmen' is an adventure and historical novel in which genres such as noir or erotic novels converge.
