«El trasero del rey» is the children's picture book by Raquel Saiz Abad, published by OQO Editora in hardback (36 pages, in Spanish).
The king sits on his throne to have lunch and a pin sticks into his buttocks. No one dares touch his bottom, even though he begs for help, because court protocol forbids it. With absurd humour, the story shows the ridiculousness of a rigid etiquette that leaves royalty without a solution for a simple everyday problem.
Published in 2007, it is part of the O collection. The text is by Raquel Saiz Abad and the illustrations by Evelyn Daviddi; the recommended reading age is 3 to 7 years.
Aimed at early readers, it is a short, visual tale, suitable for reading aloud with the family.
