«El silencio del patinador» is a collection of short stories by Juan Manuel de Prada, published by Valdemar in 1997, in paperback (224 pages, in Spanish).
These stories feature children who stop being children, sleepless adolescents, social climbers, mediocre writers and legendary bohemians: a mosaic of marginal and decadent characters. Prada's ironic, sarcastic and sentimental prose reveals the hidden face of reality, with endings marked by sacrifice or villainy.
It belongs to the «Autores Españoles» series of the «El Club Diógenes» collection, where it is number 33.
A work for readers of contemporary Spanish fiction who appreciate stories with a decadent atmosphere and marginal characters.
