The book tells the true story of Jean, who from childhood did not identify with the games of his age and secretly dressed as a girl. Maud Marin recounts the painful path to being recognized as a woman: she suffered beatings, insults and humiliations. The back cover sums up this struggle as a victory with a taste of tears and blood.

The work was originally published in 1989. According to the back cover, 200,000 copies were sold and Maud Marin achieved legal recognition of the change of civil status and the title of lawyer.
