«El mestre Batuta» is the picture book by Ricardo Alcántara, illustrated by Montse Tobella, published by Baula in paperback (32 pages, in Catalan).
In an imaginary country, winter drags on and the trees remain asleep under the snow. Master Batuta, convinced that trees like to dance to music, asks his pupils to play for them. Separate attempts fail, but when they all play together, spring seems possible.
First title in the Ala Delta Sèrie Taronja collection. Published in 2022. Recommended age: from 4 years.
Aimed at early readers in Catalan; its story invites reflection on friendship, diversity and teamwork.
