«El laberinto de las aceitunas» is the humorous novel by Eduardo Mendoza, published by Seix Barral in paperback (304 pages, in Spanish).
The detective from «El misterio de la cripta embrujada», fresh out of the asylum, gets caught up in the search for a briefcase full of money that has vanished in absurd circumstances, while a network of crooks tries to recover it. Mendoza combines humour, parody of the crime genre and social criticism in a plot that veers towards the surreal.
Second instalment featuring the detective from «El misterio de la cripta embrujada». The novel originally appeared in 1982; this edition is from 2001.
For readers who enjoy satire and the absurd, as well as for followers of Eduardo Mendoza.
