«El gran cuaderno» is the novel by Agota Kristof, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (203 pages, in Spanish).
Two identical twins arrive at their grandmother's house, the Witch, fleeing hunger and the bombing of the capital. In the midst of war, they impose a harsh daily training on themselves: with a dictionary and a Bible they study arithmetic, spelling and composition, and write pieces that end up forming the stories of «El gran cuaderno».
Published in 1992, the edition includes the translation by Enrique Sordo and the prologue by Javier Tomeo.
