«El Curioso Mundo de Calpurnia Tate» is the young adult novel by Jacqueline Kelly, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (316 pages, in Spanish).
Calpurnia Virginia Tate, a curious and restless girl, feels a passion for observing nature and the animals of the family farm, a hobby frowned upon for a young lady of her era. When she announces her desire to study veterinary medicine, her family gives her a resounding no, but she is not willing to give up her vocation.
It is the second installment of the Calpurnia Tate saga, continuing the story of the protagonist.
A read for young people and adults seeking stories of overcoming, scientific curiosity, and female protagonists outside the roles of their time.
Jacqueline Kelly is a New Zealand-born American writer. Her books are popular with both children and adults.
