«El concertista d'ocells» is a fable by Josep Francesc Delgado Mercader, published by Estrella Polar in paperback (80 pages, in Catalan).
In traditional China, Lin Zi witnesses an unusual art: birds in bamboo cages whose songs form a charming orchestra. The story takes place in the moments before a Japanese bombing in 1942 and contrasts the tragedy of war with the beauty of the birds, in a magical and sensitive narrative.
It belongs to the Vostok collection and received the XXXVIII Premi Recull de Narració Joaquim Ruyra.
Suitable reading for young people aged 12 and over interested in fables with a Chinese setting and historical background.
