In 1682 Bartolomé Esteban Murillo falls from a scaffold and, forced to rest, recalls his childhood and adolescence in a Seville degenerating amid floods and epidemics. A painter of angels and Immaculate Conceptions, favourite of merchants and aristocrats, he becomes embroiled in a murky affair that reveals the lustful, secret side of the devout city.
The novel belongs to the Autores Españoles e Iberoamericanos collection from Editorial Planeta and was published in Barcelona on 4 May 2017.
A work for readers who want to approach the figure of Murillo and seventeenth-century Seville.
