«El cas Cobra» is a children's detective book by Ursel Scheffler, published by Edicions del Pirata in paperback (128 pages, in Catalan).
In Casablanca, Inspector Isidor Llampec finds a live cobra in his suitcase: a gang of traffickers is behind it. Llampec chases gangsters across the desert, comes across the ghost of a hermit and solves other short cases. Each chapter poses a riddle whose solution, written backwards inside a magnifying glass, is discovered in front of a mirror, against the light or by reading it inverted.
Volume 14 of the Comissari Llampec series, published on 17 February 2009 and illustrated by Hannes Gerber.
Recommended for children aged 10 and over, and especially for reluctant readers, because the short cases and the magnifying-glass game invite them to keep reading.
