«El calcetín del revés» is a children's story by Lucila Mataix, illustrated by Javier Zabala, published by Bruño in paperback (120 pages, in Spanish).
Amadeo doesn't understand why he's called that and believes his sister Constanza gets more attention; he takes refuge in dreams. With humour and lots of imagination, the family tale shows jealousy, tenderness and unanswered questions, until a day at the fair puts the family to the test.
It belongs to the Altamar collection (number 48) from Bruño. It was selected for the Honor List of the Spanish Catholic Commission for Children's Award in 1992.
Aimed at boys and girls aged 8 and up; also useful as school reading to address family, jealousy and diversity.
