«El atentado» is the novel by Tomás Salvador that won the Premio Planeta in 1960, published by Planeta Deagostini in hardback (252 pages, in Spanish).
The plot rests on two situations: a man who is going to die and the men who are going to kill him. It does not present the assassination as simple revenge or a political act, but as an event with deep historical and human roots. The author announces the purpose early on, and the interest focuses on the form: a direct, concise style of great intensity.
Winner of the Premio Planeta in 1960; the 1998 edition belongs to the Colección Premio Planeta of Planeta Deagostini.
For readers of Spanish fiction and stories with tension around an assassination.
