«El ángel azul» is Zoé Valdés's essay on Josef von Sternberg's film, published by GEDISA in paperback (128 pages, in Spanish).
Zoé Valdés recalls how Josef von Sternberg's classic crossed her life from childhood in Havana, and traces a portrait of Marlene Dietrich as Lola-Lola, the film's cabaret singer. The German actress embodies for the author the femme fatale, feminine freedom and the mysteries of desire, in a homage to cinema and its characters.
Part of the collection «La película de mi vida»; the cover subtitle is «Der blaue Engel». Published in 2008.
For cinephiles and readers interested in literature on classic cinema and the impact of films on personal life.
