In this first installment of the 'Historical Narratives' series, we follow Marco Licinio Cato in his beginnings. Cato, seeking freedom, joins the Roman legion. After a campaign in Germania, he ventures into the British Isles, a territory inhabited by savages and witches. Under the tutelage of centurion Lucio Cornelio Marco, Cato begins his military career. The second Augustan legion, led by Vespasian, will witness his first exploits.
