«El Abeto» is the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, published by Ediciones Generales Anaya in 1984, in hardback and in Spanish.
The protagonist is a young fir tree impatient to grow and leave the forest, convinced that his real life will begin when he is big. Andersen turns his waiting into a reflection on ambition, the passage of time and the difficulty of valuing the present.
Edition illustrated by Marcel Dasand and Rita Marshall; the cover reproduces a winter scene in sepia tones.
Suitable for early readers and for adults who want to rediscover a tale from children's literature.
Nineteenth-century Danish writer, author of fairy tales such as The Little Mermaid, The Steadfast Tin Soldier, The Ugly Duckling and The Snow Queen.
