«Ebre: Del bressol a la batalla» is the historical novel by Pol Cortecans and Eduard Sola (Tigre de Paper Edicions, paperback, 156 pages, in Catalan).
During the Battle of the Ebro in 1938, five young men from the Republican front—a shepherd, a volunteer searching for his missing brother, a committed anti-fascist, and a seminarian—leave innocence behind. The novel alternates their experiences with the efforts of Azaña and Negrín to achieve peace or improbable international aid.
Volume 20 of the collection «Lletrafelina, el roig dins el negre». First edition published on 15 December 2016.
For readers of historical fiction and contemporary Catalan narrative, with an interest in the Spanish Civil War.
