Don Álvaro o la fuerza del sino es un drama romántico español escrito por Ángel Saavedra, Duque de Rivas. Estrenada en 1835, la obra consolidó el género dramático romántico en España. La trama sigue a Don Álvaro, un hombre perseguido por el destino y víctima de prejuicios sociales y el concepto del honor, quien encuentra en el suicidio una forma de reafirmar su libertad. Esta edición de Alianza Editorial, con introducción de Enrique Baltanás, destaca la importancia de la obra en la literatura española y cómo inspiró la ópera "La forza del destino" de Verdi.
