«Doble pareja» is the contemporary fiction novel by John Irving, published by Editorial Anagrama in hardback (232 pages, in Spanish).
A writer of historical novels narrates a consensual wife-swapping arrangement between his marriage and that of a German professor, without the children finding out. With corrosive humour, the novel deploys Irving's usual motifs: sport as an erotic metaphor, the contrast between Vienna and the United States, and the cracks in desire and marriage.
It belongs to the Panorama de narrativas collection, number 511, translated by Benito Gómez Ibáñez.
Aimed at readers of contemporary fiction and followers of John Irving's narrative.
John Winslow Irving is an American and Canadian novelist, short story writer, and screenwriter.
