«Der Mann im Schatten» is a young adult volume of two crime novels by Irene Rodrian, published by Arena in 1996 (279 pages, in German).
The volume brings together two realistic crime cases: in «Ein Zeuge zuviel», Do and Duck are locked inside a department store while trying to uncover a thief, and the mix-ups put them in danger; in the title story, Do and his brother Andi experience a frightening situation. The narrative sheds light on the social environment of the protagonists.
Arena includes this volume in its Jugendkrimi collection; the edition has been revised by the author.
Aimed at young readers, the work offers two crime cases with teenage protagonists and is suitable for individual reading.
