«Der Hass auf den Westen» is the essay by Jean Ziegler, published by Goldmann Verlag in paperback, in German.
Starting from the hostility of the peoples of the South towards the North, Jean Ziegler examines how centuries of domination and plunder fuel resentment against the West. Between UN conference rooms and villages in Nigeria and Bolivia, he denounces the effects of globalized capitalism and the lack of responsibility of rich countries, and advocates for international relations based on justice.
Original title: «La Haine de l'Occident» (2008). Translated from the French by Hainer Kober. The 2011 German edition includes a new preface by the author.
For readers of political essays and history interested in the North-South debate.
