«Dans les forêts de Sibérie» is the travelogue by Sylvain Tesson, published by Folio in paperback (304 pages, in French).
The author recounts the six months he spent alone in a wooden cabin on the shores of Lake Baikal, five days' walk from the nearest village. Amid forests and ice, with two dogs, a stove and a window onto the lake, he turns waiting into a reflection on slowness, freedom, solitude and silence.
Published in April 2013, its subtitle «Février - juillet 2010» frames the author's stay between February and July 2010.
For those seeking travel and nature writing with a reflective eye: stories of solitary life in extreme landscapes.
