«Dans les coulisses du musée» is Kate Atkinson's family novel, published by Christian Bourgois Editeur in paperback (512 pages, in French).
Ruby Lennox begins narrating her life at the moment of her conception and, with humour and irony, reconstructs the story of four generations of her family in York, weaving together secrets, war memories and social changes in a portrait of the British middle class from the 1950s to the end of the 20th century.
It is the French translation by Jean Bourdier; the original work, «Behind the Scenes at the Museum», won the Whitbread Award in 1995.
For readers of literary fiction and family sagas with humour and historical background.
