«Dans la lumière des saisons» is a collection of letters by Charles Juliet, published by P.O.L in paperback format (96 pages, in French).
Four letters, one per season, are addressed to a distant friend: walks among vineyards and woods, waiting for the unnameable, childhood memories, and an inner adventure with its anxieties and discoveries. Autumn reads as the fullness of maturity, winter imposes snow and silence, and the bare writing opens up to life.
The subtitle of the work is «Lettres à une amie lointaine»; the first edition appeared in 1991.
For readers of French literature seeking a brief, meditative work on nature, the seasons, and the inner life.
Charles Juliet was a French poet, playwright and novelist. He won the 2013 Prix Goncourt de la Poésie.
