«Attente en automne» is a collection of short stories by Charles Juliet, published by Gallimard in paperback (208 pages, in French).
Three stories about men who cannot express their love: a writer meets a reserved young woman near Rodez; a painter falls in love with an older actress and keeps his feelings to himself; an industrialist becomes passionate about a photographer very different from him. These are modest and moving stories about nascent love and the search for oneself.
The volume bears the full title Attente en automne, suivi de «Maria» et «Turbulences»; it belongs to the Folio collection and was published in 2001.
Suitable for those who enjoy intimate narrative in French and stories about love and the search for oneself.
Charles Juliet was a French poet, playwright and novelist. He won the 2013 Prix Goncourt de la Poésie.
