«Cuerda de presas» is the graphic novel by Jorge García and Fidel Martínez, published by Astiberri in paperback (96 pages, in Spanish).
The album brings together eleven stories set in Spanish prisons during the early years of the Franco regime. Each tale takes place in a different prison, from Les Corts to Ventas, and forms a mosaic about postwar repression. The political prisoners are the protagonists: between pain and rage, they recover friendship and solidarity.
The script is by Jorge García and the artwork by Fidel Martínez. The edition appeared in 2005 within the Sillón Orejero collection from Astiberri.
