«Counting on Fall» is the children's picture book on math and nature by Lizann Flatt, published by Owlkids in hardback (32 pages, in English).
With a «what if…?» approach, the book invites children to observe nature to discover numbers, patterns, and shapes in everyday plants and animals. The picture book combines lyrical text with questions that pose small counting challenges, thereby reinforcing readers' number sense.
First title in the Math in Nature series, a collection of four picture books devoted to the seasons and different areas of the math curriculum. Illustrated by Ashley Barron. Published in 2012.
Recommended for children aged 5 to 7, especially as an introduction to basic math concepts through nature.
