«Contes d'Andersen» is a collection of fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen, published by Edita in hardback in 1994, in French.
It brings together around thirty tales by the Danish author, including «The Ugly Duckling», «The Little Mermaid» and «The Snow Queen». His stories mix the marvellous with scenes from real life and pay attention to the objects and characters that are small or forgotten, with a tone close to oral storytelling.
The original Danish title is Eventyr og Historier; the first instalment appeared in 1835. The cover of this edition is an illustration of a boy in a lake.
Aimed at readers of classic tales and at children and young adults, especially those seeking a French edition of Andersen.
Hans Christian Andersen was a Danish writer. A prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, he is also best remembered for his literary fairy tales.
