«Concepción Arenal: La caminante y su sombra» is the biography of Concepción Arenal by Anna Caballé (Taurus, paperback, 440 pages, in Spanish).
Concepción Arenal, a nineteenth-century Spanish thinker, devoted her life to the defence of women, penal reform and the workers' cause. This biography by Anna Caballé reconstructs her trajectory: youth, marriage, early widowhood and evolution as a writer and activist, without hiding her shadows and contradictions.
The work belongs to the Españoles Eminentes collection and was awarded the Premio Nacional de Historia de España in 2019.
For readers interested in biographies, Spanish history and the evolution of feminist thought.
