Guido Guerrieri is a very special lawyer who, after years of defending unsavory characters, decides to work on cases that bring neither money nor glory, but new enemies. This time, he faces the case of a battered woman who has reported the harassment of her ex-partner, a case that no one wants to represent for fear of the powerful people involved. However, when a police inspector and a peculiar nun ask him for help, Guerrieri realizes that this could be the most interesting and difficult case of his career. This novel is the second case of the lawyer Guerrieri, and reveals Gianrico Carofiglio as one of the most attractive voices in the European noir genre.
