«Ciudad Laberinto» is the children's poetry book by Pedro Mañas, with illustrations by Silvina Socolovsky, published by Kalandraka in hardback (68 pages).
Thirty poems portray the city from unusual perspectives: the seasons, street noises, characters and urban festivities. The tone is humorous and approachable, and the illustrations create a surreal, dreamlike city, with buildings, streets and inhabitants superimposed on maps and newspaper clippings.
It belongs to the Orihuela collection and won the II International ‘Ciudad de Orihuela’ Prize for Children's Poetry in 2009.
It is aimed at readers aged 7 to 9, both to discover poetry and to enjoy an illustrated book.
