«Cinco semanas en globo» is the adventure novel by Jules Verne, published by Editorial Teide in paperback (288 pages, in Spanish).
Doctor Fergusson, his friend Dick Kennedy and his servant Joe cross Africa in a hot-air balloon. The expedition blends discovery of territories, difficulties along the way and a view of the continent that is both realistic and fantastical, and the reader follows the journey like another traveller.
Volume 2 of the Biblioteca Teide collection, published in June 2005, with an introduction, footnotes and a reading guide. The novel originally appeared in 1863 as «Cinq semaines en ballon».
Suitable for young readers and for use in secondary-school classrooms, as a first contact with Jules Verne's adventure fiction.
