«Chameleon's Colors» is the children's book by Chisato Tashiro, published by North-South Books in hardback (32 pages, in English).
The chameleon is tired of changing color and of no one seeing him. When he learns that the other jungle animals also want to look different, he paints them with stripes, spots, and other patterns. But their new appearance causes unexpected problems, and they discover that accepting their original identity is better than resembling others.
