«Castle Diary» is the children's historical novel by Richard Platt, published by Gardners Books in hardback (64 pages, in English).
Toby is sent to his uncle's castle for a year to learn the trade of a page; his diary records both the great events of medieval life —a boar hunt or a tournament— and the daily tasks of kneading bread and emptying the latrines.
Published in 1999, with the subtitle «The Journal of Tobias Burgess, Page», it belongs to the series The Diary Series and is illustrated by Chris Riddell.
Aimed at children and young adult readers interested in history and medieval life.
Richard Platt is a British writer of nonfiction and information books and multimedia works, primarily for children.
