«Castilla habla» is the essay by Miguel Delibes, published by Destino in paperback (187 pages, in Spanish).
In this work, Delibes brings together thirty-two colloquies from his travels through the villages of Castile and León. He portrays a land marked by drought, rural poverty and official neglect, and lets its people speak, whose popular wisdom points to the region's ancestral ills.
Published in 1986; part of the Áncora y Delfín collection (no. 598) and corresponds to the second edition.
For readers interested in Spanish literature and the literary portrait of Castilian identity and rural Spain.
