«Casa Howard» is the novel by Edward Morgan Forster published by Newton Compton Editori in paperback (256 pages, in Italian).
Set in England at the beginning of the 20th century, it follows the sisters Margaret and Helen Schlegel, the Wilcox family and the clerk Leonard Bast. Forster contrasts the intellectual sensibility of the Schlegels with the pragmatism of the Wilcoxes and addresses class differences, the conflict between freedom and convention, and the search for a home.
Originally published as «Howards End» in 1910, this Italian edition includes an essay by Virginia Woolf.
For readers of classic English fiction and for those who want to approach the work after seeing the film by James Ivory.

Edward Morgan Forster was an English author. He is best known for his novels, particularly A Room with a View (1908), Howards End (1910) and A Passage to India (1924). He also wrote numerous short stories, essays, speeches and broadcasts, as well as biographies and pageant plays. His short story "The Machine Stops" (1909) is often viewed as the beginning of technological dystopian fiction. He also co-authored the libretto to Benjamin Britten's opera Billy Budd (1951). Many of his novels examine class differences and hypocrisy. His views as a humanist are at the heart of his work.
