«Cartas» is the collected letters of John Cheever, published by Literatura Random House in paperback (432 pages, in Spanish).
John Cheever wrote an abundant correspondence with friends, family, lovers, and writers such as Philip Roth, John Updike, and Saul Bellow. Gathered and annotated by his son Benjamin, these letters trace an involuntary self-portrait of the author: his alcoholism, his repressed bisexuality, and the emotional fragility hidden behind his public life.
The original edition, The Letters of John Cheever, was published in 1988 and prepared by Benjamin Cheever, the author's son.
For admirers of John Cheever and for those who enjoy correspondence and biographies of writers.
