«Carambole» is the crime novel by Håkan Nesser, published by A. Bonnier in paperback (326 pages, in Swedish).
A drunk driver hits a young man on a rainy night and flees, but the accident drags him into a spiral of increasingly risky decisions. The Maardam police, along with Chief Inspector Van Veeteren, investigate a case that follows a dark and twisted logic, where nothing seems as predictable as it appears.
Carambole is the seventh standalone novel in Håkan Nesser's Inspector Van Veeteren series. In 2000 it won the Glass Key Award.
For readers of Nordic noir who want to follow the Inspector Van Veeteren series without having read the previous instalments.
